Alexandria Neighborhoods: Maple Grove

Maple Grove is a community of nearly 20 single-family homes, mostly split-levels and colonials, built in the 1940s and ’50s. Located between King Street and North Quaker Lane, Maple Grove is convenient to major commuting routes and is about one mile from the King Street metro station.

With a walk score of 45, Maple Grove is considered “car dependent.” However, more than a dozen restaurants are within a mile of residents’ front doors, including local favorites Lone Star Steakhouse and Monroe’s.

Currently, no homes are actively listed for sale or are under contract in Maple Grove, according to MRIS, our local MLS.

In the past year, two homes have changed hands in Maple Grove. One of the houses was a three-bedroom, one-bath colonial with 1,544 square feet of living space. It sat on the market for 22 days and sold for $550,000 with a seller subsidy of $15,000. The other home was a split-level with three bedrooms, two full baths, and one half bath, and had 1,280 square feet of living space. It was on the market for just four days before selling, and sold for $625,500 with a $1,000 seller subsidy.

Neither house that sold was a short sale or foreclosure.
