Alexandria Neighborhoods: Hearthstone

June 21, 2011 by · Leave a Comment

Hearthstone is a community of about 30 townhouses built in 1996. Located near the waterfront, Hearthstone is convenient to the George Washington Memorial Parkway and is just minutes to downtown DC, Old Town, and Reagan National Airport. It’s also walking distance to the Braddock Road metro station.

Hearthstone earns a walk score of 65, or “somewhat walkable.” More than a dozen restaurants are less than a half mile from residents’ front doors, including local favorites Bastille and A La Lucia. Oronoco Bay Park and the Mt. Vernon Trail are also nearby if you like to stretch your legs and enjoy the great outdoors.

The neighborhood is popular, and currently no homes are actively listed for sale or are under contract in Hearthstone.

In the past  year, just two homes changed ownership in Hearthstone. Both homes had three bedrooms, three full baths, and one half bath. One sold for $759,900 and sat on the market for 53 days before selling. The other sold for $772,500 and was on the market for just 15 days. Neither home that sold was a short sale or foreclosure.
