View Larger MapRosemont is a lovely community in Alexandria City about a mile northwest of Old Town and very close to Del Ray. It’s far from a ‘cookie cutter’ neighborhood, and boasts a wide mix of homes including bungalows, Tudor Cape Cods, Colonials, farmhouses, and Arts and Crafts homes. The communities are mostly detached homes with 3 to 5 bedrooms, and usually 2-3 baths. Rosemont is so called in honor of a neighborhood in Philadelphia, PA and was developed between 1900 and 1920. Much of Rosemont is part of a National Historica District.
Buying in this popular neighborhood isn’t cheap though: currently there are 8 listings on the market, ranging from a 3BR/2BA at $655,000 to a $1.148 million renovated 3600 square feet bungalow home. Four homes are currently under contract, and in the past year, 32 homes have sold with list prices ranging from $539,900 to $1.575 million! So suffice it to say there’s something for every budget in Rosemont! The average sold price is $865,368. The average days on market prior to sale was 54.
Rosemont is popular for many reasons, including its proximity to both Old Town Alexandria as well as Del Ray and all the shops and restaurants in each.
Commuting from Rosemont is a dream–the neighborhood is very close to both King Street and Braddock Road metro stations and VRE stops!
